My post earlier today contained translations of statements regarding Israel and Egypt which were made by Turkish Prime Minister Erdoğan this afternoon.
The reason I wrote the post was that I believed that the PM's statements were something that people here would want to be aware of and that his statements would most probably not be covered in the US media.
The Tip Jar got three HRs.
One of those who gave an HR wrote that it was given because the post contained provocative language.
Another who gave an HR wrote that my not providing context or editorial comment was problematic.
And the third provided no explanation.
I believe that these three HRs are not valid.
The point of this earlier post was to inform that these statements had been made by the Turkish PM, so omitting the provocative portions of the statements would have made the post meaningless.
As to context and editorial comment, I provide them when I think they are needed and when I can. There are times when it is better for me personally to just stick to simple facts and to avoid editorial comment and analysis.
Just to be clear, for the time being my future posts here at DailyKos will often contain only factual descriptions of events here in Turkey and in countries near Turkey - without editorial comment or analysis.
But there will be times when I will add my own editorial comment and analysis.
And I will try to write better titles for the posts.
